Japan Bond Yields Hit 3 Percent
Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama stated the government will maintain close dialogue with markets after benchmark bond yields reached three percent. The rise reflects investor concerns regarding inflation and fiscal sustainability.

Japan will maintain close communication with markets after the benchmark 10-year government bond yield crossed the 3% threshold, Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama said on Tuesday. The move marks the highest yield level since September 1996, driven by mounting inflation concerns and fiscal health worries. The rising borrowing costs add pressure on the central bank to accelerate interest rate hikes while servicing a massive debt-pile.
