Japan is currently weighing the decision to resume imports of crude oil from Russia after the United States granted a 30-day sanctions waiver. This move by the U.S. Treasury is intended to provide relief to global energy markets, which have seen price fluctuations in benchmarks such as Brent Crude Oil due to the escalating conflict involving Iran.
Narumi Hosokawa, the deputy general-director for immediate crisis management at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), addressed the situation on Friday.
