Italian exports to the United States grew seven percent in 2025 despite trade tariffs

Italian exports to the United States rose over seven percent in 2025 despite new trade tariffs. The country maintained a record trade surplus with Washington.

ISTAT reported on Tuesday that exports from Italy ITIT to the United States USUS reached 69.6 billion euros in 2025, marking a 7.2 percent increase over the previous year. This growth occurred despite the imposition of a 15 percent tariff by the U.S. government on most goods from the European Union, which was introduced in July 2025 and took effect in August 2025. The data, released today on February 17, 2026, indicates that Italian exporters maintained strong momentum in the American market even as trade barriers intensified.
