Indonesia Unveils Social Aid and Holiday Travel Discounts to Lift First Quarter Economic Growth

This initiative, which focuses on the distribution of rice and cooking oil over a two-month period, is intended to stimulate national economic growth during the first quarter of 2026.
Airlangga Hartarto airlangga hartarto, the country's chief economic minister, officially introduced the measures but noted that an exact timeframe for the start of the distribution has not yet been established. The scale of the programme represents a significant fiscal commitment, with the 12 trillion rupiah allocation noted alongside a cited exchange rate of $1 to 16,765 rupiah.
