Indonesia GDP grew 5.61% in the first quarter, exceeding the 5.30% expansion expected by analysts. This marks the fastest growth rate since the third quarter of 2022, up from 5.39% in late 2025. The data suggests fiscal stimulus is offsetting global energy price spikes and a weakening rupiah.
Statistics Indonesia data released Tuesday morning showed manufacturing, trade, and agriculture drove the annual expansion. On a non-seasonally adjusted basis, the economy contracted 0.77% compared to the previous quarter.
