The government of Indonesia has reported that spending on its national free meals program reached 44 trillion rupiah, equivalent to approximately $2.6 billion, as of March 9. The update was provided by the deputy finance minister during a briefing on Wednesday, highlighting the scale of the social initiative. According to official data, the program has provided meals to 61.62 million recipients across the country. The financial figures are based on an exchange rate of 16,865 rupiah per U.S. dollar, reflecting the significant fiscal resources being directed toward improving public nutrition and food security.
