Acko Eyes 2.5 Billion Dollar Valuation in IPO
The General Atlantic-backed insurer Acko is planning a public listing in early 2027 with a target valuation of up to 2.5 billion dollars. The company expects to file draft papers with regulators within the next three months.
Digital insurer Acko is reportedly preparing for a significant market debut in India, targeting a valuation between $2 billion and $2.5 billion. The firm, which has disrupted the traditional insurance landscape through its digital-first approach, is eyeing an initial public offering (IPO) in early 2027. This move comes as the company looks to capitalize on the growing insurance penetration in the South Asian nation.
The proposed listing is expected to raise between $300 million and $500 million, consisting of a combination of fresh equity and secondary share sales by existing backers. Acko has already secured a high-profile roster of investors, including AMAZON.COM INC, General Atlantic, Accel, and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. To manage the transition to the public markets, the insurer has appointed MORGAN STANLEY, ICICI SECURITIES LTD, and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK LTD as lead bankers for the transaction.
