Hyundai reports export delays due to Middle East conflict
Hyundai Motor reports export delays to Europe as Middle East conflict disrupts shipping. The automaker warns supply chain recovery will take time.
HYUNDAI MOTOR CO has announced that its exports to Europe and North Africa are facing significant disruptions due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The automaker, which ranks as the third-largest in the world alongside its affiliate KIA CORP, warned that the instability is choking vital shipping routes, driving up logistics costs, and delaying vehicle deliveries.
The situation has placed immense pressure on both the manufacturer and its network of parts suppliers. During a meeting at the Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port in South Korea, Kim Dong-jo, a senior vice president at the Global Policy Office of the company, emphasized the long-term nature of the challenge.
