German Retailers Lift Annual Growth Forecast

German retail association HDE raised its real revenue growth forecast for the year to one percent. Stable Christmas spending is expected to offset pressure from higher energy prices.

Germany's retail sector expects real-term revenue to rise 1% this year, lifted by resilient holiday spending. The updated forecast tops an earlier 0.5% growth projection issued earlier this year by the trade group. The upward revision signals consumer endurance against persistent energy cost pressures heading into year-end.
