French Cosmetics Face China Customs Delays
French cosmetics exports to China are facing delivery delays at customs. Industry officials link the issue to recent European Union parcel taxes and French fast fashion penalties.
French cosmetics exports are facing customs delays in China, with approximately 15% of shipments stuck at ports, Cosmetic Valley president Marc-Antoine Jamet said on Wednesday morning.
The disruption follows a new French penalty on fast-fashion imports enacted last month and a recent EU tax on small parcel deliveries. China previously warned it would pursue countermeasures against restrictive trade policies affecting its cross-border e-commerce platforms.
