Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has launched a formal investigation into OpenAI and its artificial intelligence platform, ChatGPT. The probe comes as the company prepares for a potential initial public offering in the United States that could value the firm at approximately $1 trillion.
In a video statement, Uthmeier expressed concerns regarding the security of proprietary data and whether advanced AI technologies could be accessed by foreign adversaries, specifically the Communist Party of China. The Attorney General’s office confirmed that subpoenas will be issued to the company shortly to address these national security and safety concerns.
