Insights:
Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. reported on February 24, 2026, that its fourth-quarter profit and revenue surpassed Wall Street estimates. The results, which cover the quarter ended December 31, were driven by stronger demand for its customs brokerage services and higher volumes within its air freight segment. In a significant move regarding its capital strategy, the company also authorized a new $3 billion share repurchase program.
The customs brokerage division saw its revenue rise to $1.14 billion, up from $983.2 million in the same period last year. This growth in the customs brokerage division and the contributions from the air freight segment were central to the company’s ability to outperform market expectations. The authorization of the $3 billion share buyback program is expected to alter the company’s near-term capital allocation.
