EU weighs rules to cut reliance on single suppliers
Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic says the EU may require companies in sensitive sectors to source materials from at least three different countries. The proposal aims to protect economic security and shield industries from supply chain disruptions or foreign export restrictions.

European Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic said on Friday the proposal may require firms to maintain at least three different suppliers. The move aims to protect the bloc's economic security against export restrictions and global supply disruptions.
