El Salvador deployed 2,000 troops to Haiti by late Wednesday, launching the first major overseas test of President Nayib Bukele's anti-gang security tactics. The rapid mobilization follows an October 18 gang ambush that left four Salvadoran aircraft technicians missing on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince.
