Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis Urges EU Leaders to Cap Carbon Emission Costs and Delay New Rules
Czech leader Andrej Babis has requested an EU emissions price cap and a delay to transport and building carbon rules to lower energy costs for industry.
Czech Prime Minister andrej babis has sent a letter to the heads of the European Commission and European Council and to the leaders of the European Union's other 26 member states. In the letter, andrej babis urged a revamp of the bloc's carbon emissions trading schemes to cut energy prices. The correspondence called for capping the cost of emissions allowances under the EU Emissions Trading System and delaying the introduction of ETS2, which covers buildings and transport, until at least 2030.
