Canada and Ukraine signed a strategic energy deal today to modernize power grids. The partnership provides equipment and boosts renewable energy investments.

The Government of Canada CACA and the Government of Ukraine UAUA announced a strategic energy partnership in Paris today, February 18, 2026, designed to bolster energy security and resilience through the concessional transfer of oil and gas equipment and support for renewable energy. The initiative, which also includes measures to reconstruct hydropower plants and strengthen commercial ties regarding nuclear fuel, comes in response to targeted attacks on energy infrastructure by Russia RURU that have caused significant damage and casualties.
