Brazil's antitrust regulator CADE opened an administrative proceeding against LATAM AIRLINES GROUP SA and GOL LINHAS AEREAS for alleged price alignment. The move follows a preliminary probe by CADE's general superintendence into domestic passenger market competition that began in 2023.
CADE used data analysis to identify a pattern of price movements between Chile-based LATAM and Gol. The regulator stated Tuesday that these patterns showed interdependence on important domestic routes.
