Brazil Expands Airline Access to Public Aviation Fund
Brazil eased loan rules for airlines using the civil aviation fund. Starting in 2026, carriers can access four billion reais for pilot training and maintenance costs.
The National Monetary Council (CMN) in Brazil has moved to facilitate easier access to credit for the aviation industry by relaxing conditions for loans backed by the National Civil Aviation Fund (FNAC). This public fund, managed by the country's top economic policy body, is expected to begin releasing approximately 4 billion reais ($778.66 million) starting in 2026.
The finance ministry announced that the updated regulations significantly expand the permissible uses for FNAC resources. While the fund was previously restricted to the acquisition of domestically produced aircraft and components, airlines are now permitted to utilize the capital for broader operational needs, including specialized training programs for pilots and aviation staff.
