The economy of Spain likely expanded by 0.5% to 0.6% during the first quarter of 2026, according to a report released by the central bank on Friday. While this growth rate outpaces other major euro zone economies, it represents a moderate slowdown from the 0.8% expansion recorded in the fourth quarter of 2025. The central bank has increased its baseline full-year growth outlook for 2026 to 2.3%, up from a previous estimate of 2.2%, following a 2.8% growth rate in 2025. The updated figures account for the economic consequences of the ongoing conflict in Iran.
