ASEAN envoy meets Myanmar minister on aid

The ASEAN special envoy met Myanmars foreign minister in Naypyitaw to discuss the ongoing civil war and humanitarian aid access. Philippine official Ma. Teresa Lazaro also sought an update on detained leader Aung San Suu Kyi during the visit.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations special envoy met Myanmar's foreign minister on Thursday, discussing the civil war and humanitarian access. The diplomatic mission comes as the regional bloc weighs normalization of ties with Naypyitaw. Myanmar's leadership has been barred from summits since 2021 following a military coup.
