The global market for Aluminum is currently navigating a "black swan" supply shock as conflict in the Middle East triggers significant disruptions, according to experts at Mercuria. Speaking in Switzerland at the Financial Times Commodities Global Summit, Nick Snowdon, the firm's head of metals and mining research, indicated that the scale of the current disruption is unprecedented in the modern era.
"The scale of the supply shock we’re seeing in the aluminium market is probably the largest single supply shock a base metals market has suffered in the post-2000 era."
