Air Liquide Reallocates Helium Amid Global Shortage
Air Liquide is reallocating global helium supplies after Middle East conflicts caused a shortage. The firm is working to support its semiconductor customers.
L'Air Liquide S.A., the industrial gases leader headquartered in France, has cautioned that a short-term global helium shortage is anticipated due to geopolitical instability in the Middle East. The company plans to address the deficit by reallocating supply volumes from its other global operations to ensure continuity for its primary clients.
During the inauguration of a new advanced materials facility in Taichung, Taiwan, Armelle Levieux, the group's vice president, explained that recent attacks on natural gas infrastructure have severely disrupted the market. Because helium is produced as a byproduct of natural gas, these disruptions have a direct impact on availability.
