Xiaomi launches updated SU7 priced from 219,900 yuan
Xiaomi launched its updated SU7 sedan today starting at 219,900 yuan. The model offers a longer range than the Tesla Model 3 and includes mechanical door handles.
Xiaomi Corporation has officially announced the pricing for its updated SU7 electric sedan in China, positioning the vehicle as a direct challenger to Tesla, Inc. in the competitive automotive market. During a major launch event on Thursday, the company revealed that the new SU7 is priced starting at 219,900 yuan (approximately $31,870), a reduction from the initial pre-sale price of 229,900 yuan. CEO Lei Jun emphasized that the updated model offers a longer driving range than the Tesla Model 3 while maintaining a lower price point.
The new SU7 is less expensive but with a longer range than Tesla Model 3.
The refreshed SU7 includes several design updates, such as the replacement of hidden door handles with traditional mechanical ones. Additionally, the vehicle now features a dedicated backup power supply to comply with upcoming safety standards set to take effect next year.

Lei Jun promoted the latest model alongside celebrities, drawing significant cheers from supporters. Xiaomi also confirmed that the high-performance Max SU7 variant will be priced from 303,900 yuan. This aggressive pricing strategy highlights the intensifying competition within the electric vehicle sector as manufacturers strive to capture market share through both innovation and value.
