Russia's wealthiest individuals have funded 1% of state spending this year through 471 billion roubles ($5.6B) in voluntary wartime donations. The contributions followed a closed-door March meeting between President Vladimir Putin and top business leaders. Without these payments, the budget deficit would have climbed to 3.4% of GDP instead of 3.2%.
