Vinci to acquire Indian toll roads in $1.6 billion deal
French firm Vinci has agreed to buy a portfolio of nine toll highway concessions in India for $1.6 billion. The deal covers 700 kilometres of key road sections.
The French infrastructure firm Vinci S.A. has reached an agreement to acquire a portfolio of toll highway concessions in India from the Macquarie Asia Infrastructure Fund 2. The transaction is valued at approximately 150 billion Indian rupees, or roughly $1.6 billion.
Based in France, Vinci confirmed that the portfolio includes nine concessions covering nearly 700 kilometers of highway sections. These assets are located in strategic areas of the national road network, including a segment of the corridor linking the major cities of Kolkata and Chennai.
The company highlighted the strategic importance of the acquisition for its international growth and long-term value.
"The deal has significant potential for value creation."
Vinci further noted that the revenues generated by these toll highways will be contingent upon the volume of traffic utilizing the infrastructure.
