Vietjet to lease 10 COMAC C919 jets for China routes
Vietjet signed a lease deal with SPDB for 10 COMAC C919 aircraft today. The agreement supports the launch of five new routes between Vietnam and China.
VIETJET AVIATION JSC has finalized a finance lease agreement with China's SPDB Financial Leasing for the acquisition of 10 COMAC C919 aircraft. The deal, announced on Thursday, marks a significant expansion of the carrier's fleet with Chinese-manufactured narrow-body jets.
The introduction of the COMAC aircraft is intended to facilitate increased connectivity between Vietnam and China. In conjunction with the new leasing arrangement, the budget airline also unveiled plans to launch five new routes connecting the two countries, aiming to serve growing demand for regional travel.

This strategic partnership allows the airline to diversify its equipment sources and enhance its operational capacity on high-traffic international corridors. By integrating the C919 into its service network, the company expects to optimize its route offerings and strengthen its competitive position within the Southeast Asian aviation market.
