Vestas wins 92 turbine order for British offshore project
Vestas will supply 92 turbines for RWE's Vanguard East project off the Norfolk coast. Deliveries start in 2028 to support Britain's 2030 clean power targets.
The manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S, based in Denmark, has secured a firm order to provide 92 wind turbines for the Vanguard East offshore wind project in the United Kingdom. This project is a 1.38-gigawatt initiative led by the Germany utility provider RWE AG. Vestas will be responsible for the supply, delivery, and commissioning of its V236-15.0 megawatt turbines. > The order supports Britain's advance towards its 2030 clean power targets and the wider energy transition across Europe, Vestas said in a statement. Upon completion of the installation, Vestas will service the turbines under a five-year comprehensive agreement, followed by a long-term operational support arrangement. The project site is situated off the coast of Norfolk in East Anglia. RWE is currently targeting a final investment decision for Vanguard East in the summer of 2026, with turbine deliveries expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2028. The company anticipates commissioning of the project in 2030.
