VARUN BEVERAGES LTD, the largest bottling partner for PepsiCo in India, reported a 20.1% increase in net profit for the first quarter ending March 31. The company achieved a net profit of 8.72 billion rupees ($92.54 million), driven by robust consumer demand across both domestic and global operations. Revenue from operations climbed 18.4% year-on-year to reach 67.22 billion rupees, while consolidated sales volumes in the Indian market grew by 14.4%.
International markets showed even stronger momentum with a 21.4% growth in sales volume. This performance comes as the company continues to scale its manufacturing and distribution capabilities to serve as a primary growth driver for its partner outside of the United States. Total expenses for the period rose by 9.8%, trailing the pace of revenue growth.
Demand remained encouraging during the quarter, supported by our wide distribution reach, strengthened execution, and continued investments in manufacturing capacity and chilling infrastructure.
Looking ahead, the company highlighted its strategic expansion in South Africa through the acquisition of Twizza. Management expects this move to generate significant operational and commercial synergies within the largest soft drinks market on the continent. The beverage maker has been aggressively ramping up its infrastructure to capture rising demand and solidify its market position.
