US regulator probes Polymarket over 2022 settlement
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is investigating if Polymarket violated a previous enforcement deal by allowing US users on its overseas platform. The inquiry examines past user controls and advertising practices.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is investigating whether prediction market operator Polymarket violated a 2022 settlement by allowing users from the United States onto its offshore platform, according to two people familiar with the matter. The inquiry revives a probe the agency closed last year without bringing charges. The renewed scrutiny tests the compliance controls of prediction platforms operating across multiple jurisdictions, including entities registered in Panama and operations in Brazil.
