United States private payrolls rose by 109,000 in April, exceeding the 99,000 jobs forecast by economists polled by Reuters. This acceleration follows a downwardly revised 61,000 gain in March. Government data on Tuesday showed job openings dropped in March, though hires rebounded to more than a two-year high.
ADP and the Stanford Digital Economy Lab reported the 109,000 increase on Wednesday. The figure beat the consensus estimate of 99,000. March figures were revised lower to 61,000 from an initial 62,000.
