US judge blocks visa duration limits
A federal judge blocked a rule limiting visa durations for foreign students and journalists. The court found the policy relied on weak rationales and threatened catastrophic economic harm.

A federal judge on Monday blocked government limits on the duration of visas for foreign students and journalists, halting a policy set to take effect the following day. U.S. District Judge F. Dennis Saylor ruled in favor of advocacy groups in Boston. The injunction prevents restrictions that would have capped international student visas at four years and journalist visas at 240 days.
