US offers 2.2 billion dollars for airline 5G retrofits

The FAA is requiring major airlines to upgrade plane altimeters by 2030 to prevent wireless signal interference. Eligible domestic carriers can receive up to 2.2 billion dollars in government rebates to cover the estimated costs of 80,000 to 120,000 dollars per aircraft.
