The United States and the Philippines expect to finalize a long-term framework for a new economic security zone in the coming months. The deal follows a pact signed in May and establishes a two-year window to formalize industrial arrangements. The framework aims to secure critical technology supply chains across Southeast Asia.
### Expanding the Pax Silica Alliance The Pax Silica program aims to safeguard the entire technology lifecycle, including critical minerals, advanced manufacturing, and data infrastructure. Jacob Helberg, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, told Reuters during the ATX Summit in Singapore that the alliance has grown to 15 members from seven last September. Helberg expects a 16th member to join by the end of next month.
