US and China trade officials hold stable talks in Paris
US and Chinese officials discussed farm goods and trade management in Paris. The stable talks prepare for a meeting between the two presidents later this month.
High-level economic officials from the United States and China held a series of productive and stable discussions in Paris on Sunday. These talks, led by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, focused on potential agreements regarding agriculture, critical minerals, and managed trade mechanisms. The outcomes are expected to serve as foundational deliverables for an upcoming meeting between President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping in Beijing at the end of March.
During the sessions at the OECD headquarters, the Chinese delegation expressed a willingness to increase purchases of American agricultural products, including beef, poultry, and various row crops. Furthermore, sources confirmed that Beijing remains committed to purchasing 25 million metric tons of Soybeans for each of the next three years.
