Announced on January 23, 2026, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the deal marks the resolution of all substantive matters between the two nations. While the agreement is not yet official, the signing is expected to take place in February 2026, depending on the coordination of the respective leaders' schedules.
The ambitious framework aims to increase the total annual trade volume between the countries by three to four times, moving from the current level of approximately $40 billion to a projected $120 billion to $160 billion. A pivotal component of the negotiations involves reducing tariffs on Indonesian exports from 32% to 19%.
