Ukraine 2026 wheat crop forecast at 23 million tons
The Ukrainian Agrarian Council expects the 2026 wheat harvest to reach between 22 and 23 million metric tons, aligning with production levels from the previous year. Traders have already contracted 3 million tons of the upcoming crop as wheat stocks are projected to rise to 4.5 million tons by June.
Ukraine could harvest 22 to 23 million metric tons of Wheat in 2026. The forecast aligns with the 23 million tons produced in 2025, according to the Ukrainian Agricultural Council (UAC). Stable output from this major European exporter is critical for global grain supply chains and price stability.
### Diverging Estimates for Grain Output The UAC trade department issued its projection on Tuesday afternoon, though other institutions suggest a tighter supply. The economy ministry forecasts a harvest of approximately 22.4 million tons this year. Conversely, APK-Inform agriculture consultancy expects 20 million tons, representing a 15% decline from 2025 levels.
