UK Raises Borrowing Plans After Budget

Britain will issue an extra 4.4 billion pounds of government bonds this financial year following the first budget. The move shifts away from costly long-dated gilt issuance as yields drop.

United Kingdom will issue an extra £4.4 billion ($5.9 billion) in government bonds this financial year and sell £3 billion more in short-term T-bills. The revision followed the first budget delivered by finance minister John Healeys on Wednesday. The modest upward adjustment matched dealer expectations.
