UK house price growth slows to 2.4 percent in December as rental increases also ease

British property prices rose by 2.4 percent in the year to December while rental growth hit a near four-year low. Monthly rent increases slowed to 3.5 percent.

The Office for National Statistics reported today that annual house price growth in Britain GBGB slowed to 2.4% in the 12 months to December, down from 2.8% in the year to November. According to the report, average monthly rent growth slowed to 3.5% year-on-year in January, which represents the lowest reported rate since March 2022.
