GB gross domestic product recorded its fastest growth since June in November 2025. This significant uptick was largely attributed to Jaguar Land Rover (Tata Motors) returning to full production following a period of disruption. The automotive manufacturer and its supply chain had previously been hampered by a cyberattack, and the resumption of output provided a substantial boost to the national manufacturing figures.
Despite the encouraging growth data, the British Pound / US Dollar fell 0.05% to $1.3443 on January 15, 2026. The currency had already been under pressure, falling by 0.10% immediately prior to the release of the gross domestic product statistics. At the same time, the Euro / British Pound rose 0.15% to 86.54 pence, suggesting that market participants are looking beyond recent production gains toward more structural economic challenges.
