Corporate confidence within the United Kingdom has plummeted to its lowest level since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, as geopolitical tensions involving Iran fuel concerns over energy prices and interest rates. According to the latest quarterly survey from Deloitte, net business confidence among chief financial officers (CFOs) tumbled to -57% in the latter half of March, down from -13% at the end of 2025. This represents the most significant dip in sentiment since the first quarter of 2020.
