Uber to Acquire Additional 4.5 Percent Delivery Hero Stake
Uber has reached an agreement to purchase an additional 4.5 percent stake in rival Delivery Hero from Prosus. The transaction is valued at 270 million euros.
UBER TECHNOLOGIES INC is reportedly set to expand its investment in the global delivery sector through a significant new acquisition. According to a report by the Financial Times on Friday, the ride-hailing giant has reached an agreement to acquire an additional 4.5% stake in its rival, DELIVERY HERO SE. The move would further consolidate Uber's presence in the international logistics market. The transaction involves the purchase of approximately 270 million euros—valued at roughly $318.1 million based on the EUR/USD exchange rate—worth of shares. Uber is expected to pay 20 euros per share to acquire the interest from PROSUS NV, which is currently the largest shareholder of the Germany-based delivery multinational. While the Financial Times provided specific details regarding the agreement, the report has not been independently verified.
