The main stock market in Canada edged higher on Tuesday as significant gains in the mining sector helped offset a downturn in energy shares. By mid-morning, the S&P/TSX Composite Index rose 0.85% to reach 33,473.03 points, with four out of ten major sectors trading in positive territory.
