The marginal gain follows the benchmark index hitting a record high above 35,000 during the previous afternoon. The renewed regional instability threatens to disrupt global energy supplies and offset positive domestic corporate developments.
### Middle East Tensions Drive Oil Higher The United States military reported it thwarted missile attacks from Iran targeting Bahrain and Kuwait on Wednesday. Oil prices rose more than 2% following the report, as diplomatic talks between Tehran and Washington showed no progress.
