Trafigura Net Profit Hits 4.1 Billion Dollars in First Half
Trafigura reported a jump in net profit to 4.1 billion dollars for the first half of its financial year as the firm navigated significant oil supply disruptions. The commodity trader saw volumes rise to 8.7 million barrels per day while increasing dividend payments to shareholders.
Trafigura reported a $4.1 billion net profit for the first half of its 2026 fiscal year on Thursday afternoon. The result exceeds the $2.7 billion earned during the entire 2025 fiscal year but remains below the record $5.5 billion first-half profit and $7.4 billion annual profit achieved in 2023. Volatility from the Iran war has created record oil supply disruptions, driving high trading volumes for the world's second-largest commodity merchant.
### War Volatility Drives Record Trading Volumes Trafigura navigated the conflict between the United States and Israel by exploiting fuel shortages and market dislocations. Trafigura traded 8.7 million barrels per day of oil, refined fuels, and Natural Gas during the six months ending March 31. This volume represents a 31% increase compared to the 6.6 million barrels per day averaged throughout 2025.
