Thales Q1 sales rise nearly 10 percent on defence surge
Thales posted quarterly sales of 5.32 billion euros, exceeding analyst forecasts. While orders missed targets, the firm maintained its annual growth guidance.
Thales, Europe's largest defense technology group, reported first-quarter sales that significantly outperformed analyst forecasts. The company saw its revenues rise by nearly 10% on an organic basis, a growth trend primarily fueled by an acceleration in defense-related deliveries.
The group recorded quarterly sales of 5.32 billion euros ($6.27 billion), representing a 9.7% organic increase compared to the previous year. This performance was bolstered by the defense division, which accounts for more than half of the company's total revenue. The division benefited from capacity expansion projects initiated in recent years, which have successfully increased delivery rates across its product portfolio.
