Business Group Urges Normalized Trade Between Taiwan and China
Paul Hsu of the General Chamber of Commerce urged Beijing and Taipei to normalize trade exchanges. He called for stability and equal treatment across all regions.
The chairman of a prominent business group in Taiwan has urged officials in both Taipei and China to exclude political considerations from trade and tourism discussions. This call for stability comes after Beijing introduced new economic incentives for the island, which were accompanied by political stipulations regarding the territory's status.
Paul Hsu, who leads the General Chamber of Commerce, emphasized that normalized trade relations are essential for long-term business security. During a press conference in Taipei, Hsu was joined by representatives from the tourism and food industries to advocate for more consistent cross-strait economic policies.
