Yum Brands reported that same-store sales at Taco Bell fell 4% in the third quarter after a cyclosporiasis outbreak caused traffic to drop 20% at its peak. The decline missed analyst expectations for a 0.9% drop and marked the chain's first negative quarter in six years. Executives said value deals and loyalty promotions are now driving a recovery across the United States.
