Swedish financial regulator fines SBB for accounting violations

Sweden's financial watchdog fined property group SBB 80 million crowns for accounting errors. The 2021 violations inflated reported earnings by billions.

The Financial Supervisory Authority (FI) has imposed an 80 million Swedish crowns sanction fee on real estate group SBB for accounting violations in its 2021 consolidated financial statements. This regulatory action, which was announced as completed on February 18, 2026, in Sweden SESE, follows an investigation that found the company’s reported earnings were 3.6 billion Swedish crowns higher than they should have been. The regulator determined that the errors led to an incorrect stated financial position for the group.
