Starbucks Recyclable Plastic Cups Often End Up in Trash

The nonprofit group Beyond Plastics tracked 36 single-use polypropylene cups from Starbucks cafes and found that none reached recycling facilities. While Starbucks maintains its packaging meets industry standards for recyclability, the study suggests most cups are diverted to landfills or incinerators.
