Spain and Portugal are witnessing a significant surge in flight and hotel bookings for the late spring and summer seasons as international travelers redirect their plans away from conflict zones in the Middle East. According to data from the travel marketing platform Sojern, summer flight bookings to Spain increased by 32% year-on-year as of early April, while hotel searches rose by 28%. Portugal recorded a 21% rise in flight bookings, with hotel searches up 16%.
